Patiently she sits in her chair waiting for worship to start, trying to go unnoticed. She's come early to find some quiet time with this God she's heard so much about... desperate to escape the noise and clutter of her chaotic life. Overwhelmed by the burdens of her heart and mind she dares to hope for just a moment of peace and God willing, an answer.

The sounds of worship begin, filling the worship space. Song after song she listens intently and allows the healing words to minister to her bruised and broken heart. She can't say when it happened but a heaviness seemed to fall away like shackles from a prisoner being set free. The worship continues to swell in the air above and it's as if the angels themselves stop and listen to the heavenly sound. Slowly her hands raise in triumph as her own voice joins the chorus to honor the King of Kings. Surrendering her life she cries out to Him... I NEED YOU! I've always needed You!

This is the power of music to stir and convict the soul. The Psalmist David knew it all too well as he penned many a song to God. They were songs of victory and songs of shame, shouts of praise and cries for help. He was a real worshiper with a life as real as yours and mine. That's the kind of worship God wants from His people, a dialogue about everyday stuff. He's not looking for pomp and circumstance. He wants YOU with all your problems, joys, tears, and dreams.
