Odyssey: Planting Seeds Of Faith For The Next Generation

Every Sunday Morning At 9 & 11AM

An Odyssey is an adventurous journey especially filled with notable experiences, hardships, etc. that typically brings personal and spiritual development along with self awareness. We recognize that the elementary years are an Odyssey with an opportunity for children to develop personally and spiritually. At Riverside, Odyssey is our ministry that desires to partner with parents to help guide children through their individual Odyssey as they get to know Jesus and themselves.

Odyssey is our Sunday morning ministry to Elementary aged kiddos (Kinder – 5th grade). Currently Odyssey meets on Sunday mornings (excluding the 1st Sunday of each month which are Family Worship Sunday) during the 9am & 11am Worship Gathering. We gather in the Odyssey room, next to the Sanctuary, where we have large group games, skits, bible study, and worship; after which we break into small groups by grade. Our small groups are led by adults volunteers and students who are going through our student ministry’s discipleship program (The Tribe).

We hope to see you and your children on Sunday, we check-in using current technology to establish a safe area and system to check-in and checkout children. If you plan to join us for the first time this Sunday, we do recommend coming a few minutes early to get your family in the system, we will be looking forward to meeting you.

Opportunities to Serve:
Odyssey is always praying for and looking for adults who feel led to grow as they pour into the adventure of children in our community. There are a couple of primary ways you can serve, our Family Pastor, Jason Carlettini, would love to speak with you more about any of these opportunities.

Odyssey Small Group Guide – These adults serve with other adults and student discipleship leaders to pour into the lives of children. They have the unique opportunity to make lifelong and internal impacts as they lead small group discussions, activities, and build impactful relationships with our children. Every leader has a team they serve with so the burden is never too heavy as well as regular training and opportunities for fellowship with the other Odyssey Guides.

Check-in Team Greeter – These volunteers serve on a rotational basic for about 30 minutes (15 minutes before and 15 minutes into the service) on Sunday mornings greeting and assisting families as they check-in. This team of volunteers make a significant impact on the experience families have as they walk into Riverside. Our hope is that they are welcomed with hospitality and served with kindness in such a way to prepare their hearts to worship Jesus and hear from Him.
