All she thought she needed was a stroller.
The foster child that was in her arms was a son born in jail soon to be up for adoption.
As she shopped around for clothes that might end up in a drawer, unused by the child she had grown to consider her own, one of the employees struck up a conversation with the mom.
The story sounded familiar. It reminded her of a story she knew only too well, the story of Matthew Josiah Garrison.
She thought all she needed was a stroller, but soon this foster mom was given the number of Matthew's mom who spoke with her about her own adoption story.
Matthew's mom gave the woman a scripture and told her that the process of adoption would be worth risking the possibility of unused socks in the bottom of the drawer.
The woman bought the stroller and placed her foster son in it as the employees of the thrift store prayed for a successful adoption. At the close of the prayer, we believe God gave a sliver of hope in the form of an interesting twist.
The judge who made Matthew Josiah Garrison an official Garrison, was the same judge that was now to preside over this new mother's case.
All she thought she needed was a stroller, and keeping in the spirit of things, God gave her much more. (more)
