Serve with Children

I sometimes think children must have constantly been running around Jesus' legs as He taught, in the same way they run around our legs and almost trip us. I think they must have been a constant presence because He pulls them aside at different times throughout His teaching in the Bible. I think He does this in order to teach something new to the religious leaders and ragamuffins of the day, and He teaches them through a child.
 
I think Jesus likes their honesty. I think children would have been the first people to mention how hot the desert was, or how their legs hurt from walking, or how they didn't know where Jesus was going or why He was saying what He was saying, but they just liked to run alongside Him as He walked.
 
Do you find humor in the voices of children who tell it like it is?
Do you mind having kids who are constantly ready to hang onto your thighs and listen to you talk about God's love for them?

Opportunities to serve in children's ministry include Sunday morning for infants through preschool, monthly Fun Nights for kindergarten through fifth grade and teaching or helping at one of our home discipleship (Acacia) groups for elementary age children.
